Enjoy engaging outings to keep us loving our city and our community, like field trips on the shuttle to the movies, lectures, the library, museums, the ice cream parlor and the sno-ball stand.

The Lakeview Shepherd Center empowers seniors to thrive at every stage of aging. Our center focuses on our membership living as vibrant, independent and connected members of the community. The programs build physical strength, balance and mobility alongside activities that stimulate the mind and foster meaningful friendships.
The Center was founded through the vision and collaboration of local churches, civic organizations, agencies and families to enrich the lives of older adults in Orleans Parish with quality affordable services.
Senior centers are essential lifelines that not only offer meals and activities but also community, belonging and purpose. These elements that are offered at Lakeview Shepherd Center improve quality of life, reduce healthcare costs and delay the need for long-term care. For many families, the Center also provides a crucial alternative to costly in-home or facility care. We offer seniors a safe and entertaining place to maintain independence while also giving caregivers time to recharge.
